This extract is produced using North American Acorus Americanus (sweet flag) Not European Acorus calamus! This extract is of superior quality to any of our previous batches. Acorus americanus is native to most of the northern countries in the world. Very rarely flowering, this plant is reproduced most often by separating the roots. This is another plant which was mentioned in the Bible as an ingredient in Holy oil. The Cree Indians of Northern Alberta have long used it for its medicinal properties. The medicinal properties observed by the Cree include but are not limited to an analgesic for oral hygiene and for headache or toothache, for exhaustion and to prevent hangovers. Other tribes used it to treat diabetes as well as a tea for bowel pain and general illness. It is an excellent and rejuvenator. The active constituents consist of Monoterpene hydrocarbons, sequestrine ketones,(trans or Alph) Asarone(2,4,5,trimethoxy-1propenylbenzen) and beta-asorone.
