Very easy to grow, this plant is a hardy foliage plant from the African continent. Found throughout this region it is used as a social lubricant in place of alcohol where legal or religious persecution persists. Traditionally chewed or brewed into a tea the leaves of this plant act as a stimulant/euphoriant and are beneficial in removing inhibitions in conversational and social settings. This plant is and has been sold as an ornamental for its beauty. Some countries have recently banned the use of this plant so please be sure to know your local laws.
Germination:
Surface sow seeds in a sandy well draining soil. Keep moist and warm, preferably on a heat mat/humidity dome. We have found them to germinate faster when left out to dry a little mimicking the wet dry cycle. Never let them dry out too much however. Seeds should sprout 4-8 weeks. This plant will thrive in a sunny locale and continue to grow for years to come. Tolerating everything from frost to extreme heat.
