 Lophophora Williamsii (Peyote)
This magical cactus is native to Mexico and has been used for thousands of years by its natives for taking spiritual journeys. It is becoming increasingly rare in its natural habitat due to its being illegal within one of its native ranges in the United States. Its natural range extends from the Rio Grand in Texas through to Mexico and Arizona. By virtue of over-harvesting and the enforcement of criminal punishment for its possession, it has become very difficult to sustain a natural population of this plant in its native habitat. Our cacti are seed-grown from a CITES recognized greenhouse. None of these cacti come from the wild.
It is with great pleasure we make these plants available for purchase, and we are happy to announce that we have obtained a continuous supply of these special cacti. We hope to spread this sacred plant among collectors and botanists in order to assure its continued survival.
The cacti are shipped bare-root, ready-to-plant and are handled with the utmost of care. Peyote is very easy to plant; you will need to have a good mineral-rich and well-draining cacti soil ready for your new arrival. Plant the cacti in a pot that isn’t too much larger then the cacti itself, while still ensuring some root space, and plant the button flush with the soil. For more information on growing cacti please view the links below. This species is available in two sizes of varying ages.
Under no circumstances will the Williamsii variations be shipped to the United States as it is prohibited by their current laws. If an order is placed by a US citizen it will be credited back and no order will be sent.
Please note Lophophora Difussa can be shipped worldwide excluding California due to a state law prohibiting the entire Lophophora genus.
